Transforming mental healthcare

Diverse Practice is a goal oriented mental health practice that specializes in providing brief treatment solutions to many common challenges utilizing a short-term therapy model while being inclusive of the whole person. This allows our care to be innovative, targeted, and time bound. Our services are designed to benefit the individual, couple or the larger business community. Whether seeking tailored treatment, partnership in your care, or corporate collaboration, see what Diverse Practice can do for you.

A whole-person approach

We approach mental health care with a whole-person focus:

  • Inclusive and culturally centric care

  • Evidence-informed and time-bound “You” focused care

  • CareCollab™ – Therapist activated; concierge supported. Your care concierge can assist you with things like additional specialty provider search and recommendations to improve your whole person wellness, enhance your use of evidence informed tools gained in session, and encourage accountability through motivational techniques in between your sessions with your therapist.

FOUNDER & CEO

M. Julius Owens, LCSW

he, him, his

It all began with an idea! Evidence-based care focused on outcomes specific to the needs of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA Individual. Born out of necessity, Diverse Practice was founded on this principle. Most current models of care and treatment protocols were never designed with the needs of diverse clients in mind—vaguely, if ever, at all, aligning with the unique demands, culture, or values of each of these cohorts—while missing or discounting our resilience and shared “Other” experience.

Perhaps you just want to focus on your individual mental health. Maybe you want help improving your whole-person health. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the community—or better yet, the world. Whatever that is, the way you tell your story can make all the difference.

That's what I do: I deliberately focus on Your STORY. This STORY aspect is integrated with evidence-based approaches specific to diagnosis, clinical interventions, and treatment. You deserve to be heard by someone who looks like you, lives like you, and has a lived or shared experience similar to yours.
